The Ritz will probably always be remembered for its bohemian heyday in the 1920’s evoking images of rich women in expensive ostrich feather gowns dancing the cha-cha overlooked by Gin sodden army colonels, who mutter to themselves until the small hours of the morning.
This five star hotel opened its doors to the public in 1906 and its reputation still precedes it. It’s spacious and airy rooms and suites are lovingly decorated in the classic style of Louis XVI ensuring maximum comfort and a stay to remember. There is a distinctive colour scheme of pinks, yellows, peaches and blues in the fabrics in the bedrooms, which are adorned with antique furniture and gold leaf.

When we think of The Ritz our minds often associate it with the famous afternoon teas which are served in the fabulously elegant Palm Court. Tea at the Ritz consists of a selection of various teas, freshly made scones with clotted cream, a range of fabulously light pastries and of course those famous cut cucumber sandwiches. There are two sittings a day 3.30pm and 5.30pm.
