Accommodation in London

A guide to business accommodation in London

If you’re in the capital on business finding accommodation in London can be a costly and time consuming experience, especially in peak season and if you’re on business in town for a week or more you’re costs are going to rocket and make a heavy dent in your wallet. There are however a number of different alternatives to just staying in pricy hotels and there are agencies too that provide alternative accommodation for those here on business.

Web based companies such as www.accomodationlondon.net offer studio apartments and shared houses on a long or short term basis. Popular among those here on business for longer than a week or for those on working holidays, they have over three hundred apartments, mostly in North West London and all close to tube stops.

One of the great advantages is that you can stay for anywhere between four nights and three months. Prices start at ₤27.00 per night per person wanting to stay in a studio apartment with two others, and if you extend your stay to between three or six months prices drop to around ₤15.00 per night. There are clear advantages for families here because everyone has a base to return to at the end of the day.

All apartments are modern and have been recently converted, featuring laundry facilities, power showers and stylish new kitchens.

Another popular and cost effective option for those here on business is the shared house. This is a good option if you’re over here with colleagues, allowing you to work and socialize together. Houses are modern, newly renovated and situated close to public transport to minimize hassle to and from the office, and companies are flexible with short and long term leases. Prices usually start from about ₤38.00 per night.

Other companies such as Harlequin Executive Studios offer short term accommodation in well maintained and spacious studios for individuals or businesses from abroad. Based in Watford this is handy because of its proximity to major London airports.

Agencies such as yourstay.com offer spacious apartments in central locations for business travelers and for those who wish to take their families on holiday whilst they do business in town. A typical apartment in the desirable location of Chelsea with well maintained modern furnishings is priced at around ₤200.00 per night and sleeps four people, not bad when you compare the price of what a hotel in that area would usually cost.

Although hotels are by far the most popular form of accommodation in London for those on business, the alternatives of shared housing and rented apartments are well worth investigating because you could make some great savings.
